When co-owner Mark Turner first told his grandmother that he planned to open an establishment in Hamilton, she told him that he was “mad as a hatter”, unknowingly coining the name of what would eventually become one of the best Bermuda restaurants.
Head Chef Ben Jewett originally came to Bermuda over 20 years ago to work for the Waterlot Inn in Southampton. Since then, he has been the Head Chef at both Flanagan’s and The Lobster Pot, where he first began to build up his reputation as one of the island’s most eclectic culinary masters. One night while at the Lobster Pot, Mark and Ben decided to combine their culinary and management skills in order to open a new restaurant, and that’s when Mad Hatters was born.
We are one of the only Bermuda restaurants to employ an entirely Bermudian wait staff, and have a diverse mix of Thai, Canadian and English chefs in our kitchen.
